What do we do?
The Texans Recovering Together Crisis Counseling Program is grant funded through FEMA to offer short-term counseling, community resources and coping strategies to anyone affected by the coronavirus pandemic. We also provide educational presentations to schools, educators and general staff regarding reactions to disaster, self-care and establishing healthy habits in the time of the pandemic.
Where are we?
The CCP operates in the Heart of Texas Region: Falls County, Hill County, Bosque County, Freestone County, Limestone County & McLennan County. The CCP will also deploy into the community to volunteer and learn first-hand about community resources. This could be helping food banks, helping with testing sites, visiting schools for presentations, attending meetings with community figures such as the Bienestar Coalition, etc.
Who can access our services?
Our services are available to individuals and families either directly or indirectly affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Kids too are eligible to speak with a counselor, so long as a parent or caretaker provides verbal consent.
What current services look like:
Because of the risk associated with in-person encounters, services are mostly delivered virtually. In-person services are delivered on a case-by-case basis. For counseling, we typically last 1-5 sessions. We offer referrals for consumers are needing a higher level of care. For community resources, there is no limit to the number of times an individual can call in. For persons who need to vent, or simply need a listening ear, they may call the main toll-free line. All interactions remain anonymous; we do not ask about citizenship or other identifying information, nor do we do not keep case files. Contact information:
To speak with a counselor or obtain information about community resources, call our toll-free number: 866-576-1101. If you would like for a counselor to call back at a more convenient time, visit our website to access the Counseling Request Form.
